Pumpkin Golden Milk

This creamy rich Golden Milk is deep satisfaction in 5 minutes. SOOOOOO Delicious! Turmeric stimulates blood circulation. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory superfood that destroys cancer cells. Essentially turmeric helps to tonify the organs to keep the immune system in peak condition.

But before you start sprinkling turmeric on everything, please know that curcumin (its major active compound) is poorly absorbed in the body. To boost curcumin absorption, always try to eat turmeric with black pepper. Add some fat, because turmeric is fat-soluble. Heat it a bit to increase the solubility of curcumin. Eat turmeric with quercetin-rich foods, which inhibits an enzyme that inactivates curcumin. For example, foods rich in isoquercitrin include leafy vegetables, broccoli, red onions, peppers, apples, grapes, black tea, green tea, elderberry juice concentrate, juniper berries, carob flour, bee pollen, cocoa powder, chia seeds, moringa, and some fruit juices. Click here for a list of foods highest in quercetin.

Pumpkin is especially rich in Vitamin A. It’s a high anti-oxidant packed with vitamins to boost the immune system. Pumpkin contains carotenoids Lutein and Zeaxanthin which are vital for eyesight. It is nutrient dense and relatively low in carbs. Serves one.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup full-fat unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 cup black or green tea (these are high in quercetin, which helps boost curcumin absorption)
  • 1/3 cup cooked pumpkin pulp (about 85 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground turmeric, depending on how strong you like it.
  • 1/4 teaspoon or more ground black pepper
  • Dash of optional spices: pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, cardamom, and/or ginger
  • Optional sweetener to taste such as 1 tablespoon Just Like Sugar Brown natural chicory root sweetener, or 1/2 teaspoon PureLo Lo Han Sweetener by Swanson, or 2 teaspoons raw honey, or your favorite sweetener.

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat add all the ingredients.
  2. Heat until steamy but not boiling.
  3. Blend with an immersion blender until smooth. (If you don’t have an immersion blender, no worries. Place all the ingredients into any blender before heating. Blend until smooth. Then pour into a saucepan and heat until steamy but not boiling.)
  4. Pour into a 16-oz cup. Enjoy!

This Pumpkin Milk looks incredible! As are most of your recipes. You are a WIZARD indeed!
      FYI
I have been using date past for a sweetener these days. Just wanted to pass this on..
Just soak the dates overnight, remove the pits, and place them in a Blender or a Bullitt until they turn into paste. I fill up several jars and use the past in my smoothies and desserts.
      YUM!
All the best… Still in Mexico and almost done with 3 1/2 months of work on my teeth… Radiation is a killer…!
      Love, andrea

Hi Andrea dear, So lovely to hear from you. BTW did you know that date paste is mostly sugar? Yep. It’s not going to cure your sugar addiction. It’ll make it worse. You’re like the Pied Piper of Hamlin tempting all my readers to eat sugar once again by sayin’ these dastardly things on my public blog. So I have to answer strongly. Most people enjoy being addicted to sugar, and therefore a slave to their own metabolism. But if you want to end sugar addictions and heal the acidity of your body, stay away from date paste. Ha Ha! Or save it for special occasions, NOT a daily fix. Eeek! For more details, this article is for you, my friend: ‘Myth-Busting “Natural” Sweeteners. It’s about FRUCTOSE, darlin’”, !https://janeshealthykitchen.com/natural-sweeteners-best-and-worst/. Best wishes for your delicious health. Jane
