Jane’s Recipes

DSC_2602 - Version 2

My recipes are all original. Every one! Food should bring you energy, clarity and JOY! Perhaps my biggest discovery is how to make sweets that don’t elevate blood sugar or cause weight gain. We believe desserts are BAD for us (and most of them are)! However sweets can be HEALTHY! In an epidemic of sugar-related diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer, THIS is the solution: Use low-carb, original, unprocessed ingredients. There’s no need for deprivation. Here are some of my recipes. Try them and send me your comments!  Jane

Pumpkin Golden Milk

This creamy rich Golden Milk is deep satisfaction in 5 minutes. SOOOOOO Delicious! Turmeric stimulates blood circulation. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory superfood that destroys cancer cells. Essentially turmeric helps to tonify the organs to keep the immune system in peak condition. But before you start sprinkling turmeric on everything, please know that curcumin (its major active compound) is poorly absorbed in the body. To boost curcumin absorption, always try to eat turmeric with black pepper. Add some fat, because turmeric is ...

Paleo Turkey Tagine Stuffing

I’m in the mood for a new stuffing this holiday. Something with rich exotic spices! And crunchy textures. This Paleo stuffing is based on a Moroccan stew, slow-cooked in a Tagine clay-pot. That’s similar to baking inside a bird, right? This turkey stuffing is nothing like my mom's. It is gluten-free and grain-free, made with pure unrefined ingredients from Nature - onions, celery, squash, mushrooms, and toasted almonds, plus an enticing blend of Moroccan spices. The spice paste has a deep, mellow ...

High-protein, low-carb, and filled with whole-food nutrition, these scrumptious crunchy cookies are a great grab-and-go breakfast. This recipe makes 20 giant cookies, enough to freeze for a rainy day. A food processor or blender is helpful but not required. Breakfast cookies are a dime a dozen. But they're often loaded with sugars and carbs - the kind that add to your waistline and are guaranteed to spike blood sugar. So, to satisfy my own curiosity, I compared the nutrition facts of ...

Addicted to coffee? A healthy brew!

85% of Americans use caffeine daily. We drink 400 million cups of Joe every day. Our coffee obsession is a roaring $30 billion industry! However, if you're an independent soul like me that wants to be truly healthy, here's a delicious alternative. I'll cut to the chase: Coffee is addictive. It slowly depletes the kidney energy, according to Chinese Medicine, which means it's VERY bad news for your creativity, long life, and your S.E.X drive, I mean your libido. Yep ...

Kashmiri Curry Chicken Tenders

This exotic dish will warm you deep inside. I love tantalizing Asian spices like turmeric, coriander, and Thai ginger. Easy to prepare, just marinate the chicken, roll in coconut flakes, and bake until crispy! And it tastes absolutely divine with my No-Peanut Sauce! The secrets to its flavor are Turmeric and Galangal, also called Thai ginger. Galangal is somewhat spicier than regular ginger root and gives the flavor a tantalizing kick. You can find Galangal in Asian markets, in the grocery ethnic section, or online. Look for Thai Kitchen dried ...

Follow the spices below, and it will be fabulous. My curry dishes are always nightshade-free so everybody can enjoy them. (See my article Beware of ...

Boost Immunity with Creamy Golden Milk

Spike your day and uplift your immune system with this delicious 3-minute snack! Turmeric health benefits are widely publicized, and Golden Milk is all the rage. Oh yes, we can guzzle it down up in every flavor. However, turmeric is rather difficult for the body to absorb. Very few people understand how to prepare Golden Milk to optimize absorption. Sadly, the turmeric you're taking may not benefit you in any way. Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, can clear inflammation, ...

Paleo Bone Broth

When you're feeling weak and tired, bone broth is the #1 best cure. Real broth tastes delicious and is easy to simmer for hours or overnight while you do other things. There’s nothing in the world like homemade soup made from tail bones. Ha Ha! Commercial broths are often made from unknown animal discards with sugar and MSG. Yuch! However, this bone broth is far more delicious, deeply satisfying, with an off-the-charts nutritional profile. Scroll down for complete instructions. I ...

Eat beans and live a long life! I especially love curried red lentils and confess that this dish is my comfort food. Yes, I know they're not officially Paleo. However it turns out that beans have been discovered at Paleolithic fossil sites all over the world, and in some areas were found to be their primary plant food. What about the anti-nutrients? Aha! Omega-3 Italian Fish Stew with Garlic and Saffron

This recipe is inspired by an amazing day on the Southern Adriatic coast. After teaching a Qigong workshop in Italy, I spent a few magical days in the charming beach town of Sirolo. Of course there's nothing to do but relax and eat fish! The sky and sea were calm and brilliant blue. We lounged under umbrellas all day, while the aroma of roasted garlic, olives, and the freshest fish beckoned us from the restaurant.  ...

Best Depression Med? 100% Chocolate!

Pure 100% chocolate is my favorite food in the world. And for good reason. Pure unsweetened cacao gives me a lift! It is higher in antioxidants than grapes, blueberries, or green tea. Maybe that’s why ancient cultures called it “Food of the Gods.” Who needs meds when we have the REAL STUFF? But there's a catch! If it has sugar added, it's partly toxic. Why ruin the healthiest food by mixing it with the most unhealthy toxin? Sugar acidifies the body ...

Zoodles with No-Tomato Sauce

I love Italian food, especially pasta with tomato sauce. However it's tough on my body, which prefers this amazing recipe with Zoodles and No-Tomato Sauce (or your favorite pasta sauce), and Vegan Parmesan Cheese. Why eat spaghetti that's high in carbs and nutritionally empty? I react to the acidity in tomatoes, a nightshade, like many other Caucasians. And nightshades are tough for some members of my family that have arthritis inflammation. If this isn't an issue, just use your favorite tomato sauce over the zoodles. Zucchini ...
